PRESS RELEASE: News About SUB Restaurant Space & Fall Semester Wrap Up.
Dear UFV students,
I hope you are all looking forward to wrapping up the Fall semester and starting on your holiday break.
I would like to bring you some exciting news about the restaurant space in the Student Union Building (SUB). We have received many questions about the space and I am happy to announce our new temporary vendor. UFV will be undergoing construction on campus in the new year to support our growing student population: expanding the cafeteria and constructing a new residence building. During the renovations, SUS is happy to be able to provide the SUB restaurant space as a temporary location for the cafeteria! Through this, we hope to continue to support food security on campus, and to ensure students have suitable food options throughout the renovations. We look forward to providing this temporary home for the cafeteria on campus.
As we wrap up the Fall, I would like to thank you for your continued support of SUS and to highlight some of our recent achievements this semester. Our Angel Tree program has been a huge success, with 155 angels sponsored! Following our by-election in October, we welcomed seven new Student Representatives At-Large and one Indigenous Representative onto our Board of Directors. We held several successful events such as Bunny Yoga, Holiday Market, Cultural Market, and the Abbotsford Canucks Rush Night. We also had strong advocacy initiatives, advocating to both the provincial and federal government for student financial aid, mental health funding, fairness for international students, and more.
I wish you all the best throughout this final stretch of the semester. Remember to keep up the hard work during finals and have a Happy Holidays!
