PRESS RELEASE: BC Floods 2021

Hi UFV Students!

I hope you are all safe and doing well. The entire SUS team is devastated by the current events that have affected our students, the local community, and surrounding cities during these last few days. We want to let each and every one of you know that we are here for you during this unprecedented time. We are currently working alongside UFV to ensure that all students are safe and have access to current information and resources that protect both their physical and mental health.

On Monday, we advocated to UFV on behalf of students requesting that classes be cancelled for the safety and wellbeing of all our students. The University acted quickly in response and continues to act with care and attention to ensure that everyone is being taken care of and their immediate needs are met.

There are many different resources available for students, and I encourage you to take extra care of yourself and those around you by using the various programs and services listed on our BC floods page.

It is important we all check in on one another during this time, as we are all in this together! We are continuing to advocate on behalf of students and providing as much services as we can. If there is any additional support that SUS is able to provide, please don’t hesitate to reach us at info@ufvsus.ca, and we’ll be sure to get back to you as possible.

Take care and be safe,

Nikiel Lal
PRESIDENT, UFV SUS
