PRESS RELEASSE: Referendum - SUS Board of Directors Calls Referendum with Four Questions.

Dear Students,

On behalf of the SUS Board of Directors, I am writing to inform you that on January 26, 2023, the Board passed

a motion calling for a Referendum vote, to be conducted March 13-16th alongside this year’s Annual Elections.

The following questions were created after receiving feedback provided by survey, and after a consultation

with students:

  1. Do you support reallocating $3 of the Building fee to the Membership fee, with both fees being adjustable for CPI, resulting in the following:
The Building fee will drop from $35/semester to $32/semester

The Membership fee will increase from $36.50/semester to $39.50/semester

  2. Do you support replacing the $27.23/semester Inter-Campus Shuttle Fee with a $27.98/semester Student Transportation Fee, adjustable for CPI, that will continue to support and grow the shuttle service while also supporting transportation-related initiatives such as weather preparedness/safe driving?

3. Do you support making the current $2/semester Student Refugee Program fee adjustable for CPI?

4. Do you support the creation of a $2/semester Food Bank fee, adjustable for CPI?

We will be hosting a series of events where students will have the opportunity to ask any questions about the

upcoming vote, so check out our website for more details at ufvsus.ca/referendum.
