The UFV U-PASS

All U-PASS holders (SUS fee-paying UFV students) have access to free transportation services through Central Fraser Valley Public Transit Services as well as UNLIMITED FREE access to fitness through Abbotsford, Mission, and Chilliwack’s public recreation centres together with numerousBenefits and Discounts to businesses throughout Abbotsford, Mission, and Chilliwack, including a Historic Downtown Abbotsford Discount just a 10 minute bus ride from the campus!

OPTING OUT

• Students may opt out of the U-Pass Program if they are taking on-line or distance education courses only within the same semester; if they have a BC Transit Pass issued by the BC Government, and that it must be valid during the same time as the U-Pass; or, if they have a documented disability, which has been verified by UFV Disability Services that makes the public transit system not accessible. Providing these qualifications, you may be eligible to opt out of the U-Pass program and receive reimbursement.

•  If you meet any of these requirements, the next opt out period is from May 1st through May 31st and prior to that time you must provide the following information:1. A signed and dated letter of application for U-Pass exemption stating your first and last name, your student ID number, the reason you would like to opt out of the program (I.e. On-line classes only), and the semester you are requesting to opt out of the U-Pass. If you are opting out under the other provisions, we can give you other examples. In addition we require…2. Provide proof that you meet the qualifications for opting out. If you are an on-line student, this can be found on your ‘myufv.ca’ account under the My Courses tab, with a screen shot showing that semester and your registered classes, or a letter from the Department of to the reason for your opting out (study abroad, COOP, other forms of distance education).The information can be sent via fax to 604.853.4076, or scanned and e-mailed to officeadmin@ufvSUS.ca.
